MEET THE THERAPIST

Heather Dart graduated from McMaster University with a Kinesiology degree in 1999, and then obtained her Physical Therapy degree at Queen's University in 2003.  Heather also has a strong interest in manual therapy and is currently pursuing part-time studies at the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy and Holistic Health Sciences in Hamilton Ontario.  She is also completing additional training in the art, science and practice of classical Osteopathy from the John Wernham School in Maidstone, England.  Heather believes in treating the cause of the problem and not just the symptoms. 

Heather has had experience working in a variety of place settings including institutional, community and private clinics.  She is a certified Can-fit-pro Personal Trainer and Nutrition Specialist and is a certified Strength and Condition Specialist from NSCA.  She is also an ADP authorizer for walkers, scooters and wheelchairs.  Recently, Heather has worked as a Strength and Conditioning coach for the Lindsay Figure Skating Club, Team Therapist for the Aurora based Cyclissimo Cycling team and was also the Team Physiotherapist for the Canadian ITU World Age-Group Triathlon Team.  

Heather has competed at a varsity level for badminton and squash at University and was a member of the 2006 World Age-Group Triathlon Team.  She also enjoys other activities such as cross country skiing, volleyball and golf and as a result has a keen interest in treating a variety of sports-related injuries.
